I looked at the access to one of the entrances to the DUC. This entrance was marked wheel chair accessible. The ramp above is exit only, and is functional for a chair user. The entrance is on ground floor so once instead the DUC one would have to use an elevator located centrally to get up to the dinning level. However I found issues with even getting into the building. There is no slope so the chair user should have no problem on the surface level or material the brick cracks are small and the weather rug is level with the brick. The issue I found with the marked accessible entrance is the automatic door opener does not operate. I pushed the button and the associated door did not open. If the door does not automatically open the actual door structure comes into consideration. The handles on the door are set low and small grip. Not easy to pull open. Also the door is a double door, however I think opening one side of the door is wide enough for a chair user if he/she is able to open the door. The University should look into changing that sign or fixing the non automatic door.
