I choose to evaluate the girls bathroom in my residence hall floor. It is marked as handicapped accessible from the outside but the stall itself is not marked. There are a total of 3 stall in the bathroom, one being the handicapped one. This stall like the rest has sliding handles and automatically closing doors. The width of the handicapped door is wider than the rest and complies with ADA suggestions of 32 in. Inside the stall there are 2 long side rails, one on each side of the toilet. The flush is a lever which is the most universal in terms of use for everyone, but it is placed behind the bowl of the toilet maybe causing some problems reaching it. The toilet paper holder on the other hand is easily accessible. A basic problem is that since the bathroom is on the 4th floor there is no opening to the outside, only in the building up an elevator. The stall demarcated for disabled complies with regulations.
